Meet the 5 owners of Chandhini Creations who sell handmade gift items

Last time we had an interview with Neha Khan who is running her own playschool successfully. You can read her interview here. Today, I have an interview with not just one but a group of 5 women. These 5 women entrepreneurs have partnered to sell handmade gift items which are a huge hit among their customers. The interesting thing is the fact that they are from the same apartment. If you are someone who wants to start a business from home but not as a single owner, here is the right interview for you.

Tell us about your business:

Our Business started after Navarathri 2015, where I gifted my friends with handmade floating lamps. They all liked the product very much and I suggested marketing it, then we five of us joined together and started a Facebook page Chandini Creations.

We worked under a common ID Chandini C. We brainstormed and expanded our product list which includes Floating lamps, Floating diyas, Kundan rangolis, Kum kum boxes, Acrylic home d├ęcor and wall hangings. Initially, we did not get a good response and after March 2016 orders got pouring in as I started marketing seriously through Facebook. This is our page link,

Tell us about your turning points and milestones in ur business:

The first turning point of our business is the stall we had put in our apartment. We received huge appreciation and motivation.Next is the huge order that was given by Mrs, Lakshmi mam from Singapore, which is when we understood the intricacies of producing in bulk and procuring the materials needed. We successfully worked day and night and completed the order which was liked by the customer very much.

Have you faced any difficulties initially?

Initial difficulties were the procurement of materials as we stay in the outskirts of the city. We successfully overcame it by planning and ordering materials through the phone.

Do you face any difficulty in working from home?

How are you all balancing work and personal life?

We dedicate specific time in a day for work and family. During weekends we take off. When orders demand we work during night and holidays.

Some feedbacks from our prestigious clients:

Mrs.Lakshmi Sahas - I love their service and sincerity in their work. Every piece is a beautiful art. All the rangoli sets and the vilakku base rangoli that I bought from them seem to be perfect.
For o e of the vilakku base rangoli sets I had bought, the diameter of the circle was a little smaller than I had required. But without a second thought, another set was posted out to me to Singapore in no time!!! For them, customer satisfaction was all that mattered. I was truly touched by that act.
Thank you so much.

Mrs.Geetha Krishnan - I came across this page just a week before Krishna Jayanthi. What caught my attention was theKrishnaa feet. I ordered for it along with few other things. It was a short notice of just 3 days. They had to be delivered overseas. but Gayathri &Co made sure that it reached me well in advance!!! Was really happy with the products! !! Neat packing. And a special thanks for the effort and personal attention u took in tracking the details. Totally happy and satisfied. Will come back for sure. Keep up the good work.

Mrs.Aruna Anand - Received my order and so happy with it. Even better than the picture I saw on your page. Thank you so much for the prompt response and service. Look forward to placing more orders with you.

Mrs.Sushmitha Sivan -  Recently bought gift items worth 8k for my baby birthday. I liked the items as it was very colourful. The communication was great. It was quickly made and delivered.

Mrs.Priya Shyamsundar - Awesome is the word for Chandini creations' products . They are so beautifully made that one cannot have the heart to use them:)  I feel like locking it up in a glassbox and keep admiring the beauty of it. Highly recommended. Creativity beautified :)
